Planning good strategies is only a start toward successful marketing. A brilliant marketing strategy counts for little if the company fails to implement it properly. Marketing Implementation  is the process that turns marketing plans into marketing actions in order to accomplish strategic marketing objectives. Whereas marketing planning addresses the what and why of marketing activities, implementation addresses the who, where, when, and how. Managers typically use budgets, schedules, and performance standards for monitoring and evaluating results. With budgets, we can compare planned expenditures with actual expenditures for a given week, month, or other period. Schedules allow us to see when tasks were supposed to be completed and when they were actually completed. Performance standards track the outcomes of marketing programs to see whether the company is moving toward its objectives.
