Implementation Evaluation Control

Planning good strategies is only a start toward successful marketing. A brilliant marketing strategy counts for little if the company fails to implement it properly. Marketing Implementation  is the process that turns marketing plans into marketing actions in order to accomplish strategic marketing objectives. Whereas marketing planning addresses the what and why of marketing activities, implementation addresses the who, where, when, and how. HelpCakes company will makes these actions by following are business plan, we will have set goals that the company will be able to accomplish with the help of marketing as well as word of mouth. We are very hopeful that our cupcakes will speak for itself, not only the taste, but also our ethics and the reasoning behind why we started this company. For effective implementation and control, the marketing plan should define how progress toward objectives will be measured. Managers typically use budgets, schedules, and performance standards for monitoring and evaluating results. With budgets, we can compare planned expenditures with actual expenditures for a given week, month, or other period. Schedules allow us to see when tasks were supposed to be completed and when they were actually completed. Performance standards track the outcomes of marketing programs to see whether the company is moving toward its objectives.

Price

I thoroughly thought of what the price of the cupcakes will be, I wanted it to be a fair price within Whole Foods, and they can't be to cheap because cheap doesn't always mean quality, and to expensive can be non-appealing to the customer. Price for the Helpcakes will start at $15 for a box of four. Our product will be edible and people can buy the product and be happy with it, its a portion where a family can share and enjoy together knowing that they have done something good.  Thus, whereas marketers see themselves as selling products, customers see themselves as buying value or solutions to their problems. And customers are interested in more than just the price; they are interested in the total costs of obtaining, using, and disposing of a product.

Promotion

Many companies follow the selling concept, which holds that consumers will not buy enough of the firm’s products unless it undertakes a large-scale selling and promotion effort. In order for our company to obtain customers, we will be under going a very aggressive approach. We will get our name our through radio ads and TV commercials. We believe this approach will be very beneficial to our product. We will also be handing out free cupcakes in the first week of distribution within Whole Foods, customers can have a sample while they shop so they can decide on buying our products. We want to educate and inform the public what are cause is and what they can do to help the victims in the Philippines as well.

Distribution

Activities such as consumer research, product development, communication, distribution, pricing, and service are core marketing activities. We have chosen to go with Selective Distribution which is a small number of retail outlets that are chosen to distribute the product.Whole Foods is the retail store that will be selling our Helpcakes, you can attain these treats at any Whole Foods around the Las Vegas area. Our packaging will take a hold of 4 cupcakes. It will be very similar to a small house that will have different colors all around and represent the fact that we are helping the Philippines. The production concept holds that consumers will favor products that are available and highly affordable. Therefore, management should focus on improving production and distribution efficiency. This concept is one of the oldest orientations that guides sellers.

Product

We will be having two flavors for our Helpcakes which well be Cinnamon and Chocolate. Marketers want to develop unique market positions for their products. If a product is perceived to be exactly like others on the market, consumers would have no reason to buy it. Whole Foods has a few options for cupcakes, but nothing like what we have in mind. There cupcakes seem to be a bit dull and small which will not compare to what we will be offering. Our cupcakes will be medium size portions of fun as well as deliciousness in our tummys. Our chocolate cupcakes will be about the same size, with the Philippines flower known as a sampaguita. Our vision for this cupcake will be a chocolate cupcake with edible pearls, with a sampaguita on top. We want our cupcakes to represent who we are helping and have a meaning. Success comes not just from what products you offer customers, or from the prices you charge. It comes from offering the combination of products and prices that produces the greatest customer value—what customers get for the prices they pay.

Target Market Strategy

The first four steps of the marketing process focus on creating value for customers. The company first gains a full understanding of the marketplace by researching customer needs and managing marketing information. There are over 1 million likes on Facebook that love cupcakes alone. Our marketing strategy will definitely be a success. Cupcakes have been trending for a few years now, with various types of shows. We know that the market is there, we just need to know how to market our customers. We know that our customers will be women, all kind of women whether they are mothers, stopping by to do some quick grocery shopping and buy a few treats for their home. Narrowing down our focus to one specific demographic gives potential customers a reason to notice who we are. If prices are low and understandable the consumer looks at price as being the motivator. After deciding on its overall marketing strategy, the company is ready to begin planning the details of the marketing mix, one of the major concepts in modern marketing.

SWOT Analysis

STRENGTHS- Our company strengths will be the taste of our cupcakes, we know they will be filled with deliciousness. The goal is to match the company’s strengths to attractive opportunities in the environment, while eliminating or overcoming the weaknesses and minimizing the threats.  Another strength will be what type of company we are, We understand that people  will adapt well to our mission and will also try to do something for the people in Typhoon.
WEAKNESSES-  Our weaknesses will have to be our branding and reputation because we are a new company, and we are not sure how people will act to our company. There are plenty of cupcakes brand with loyal customers, we will just have to learn how to achieve loyal customers and people that would love to try something new.
OPPORTUNITIES- The opportunity that our business will gain will be definitely getting our name known, once we have our name out there, we will be able to provide  help internationally and hopefully branch out to other markets rather then just being limited to Whole Foods.“Growth is pure oxygen,” states one executive. “It creates a vital, enthusiastic corporation where people see genuine opportunity.” At the same time, a firm must be careful not to make growth itself an objective. The company’s objective must be to manage “profitable growth.”
THREATS- Helpcakes threats are all baked goods inside Whole Foods, whether they are cookies, cakes, and even other type of cupcakes. There is also the chance that people won't like the cupcakes we are offering and are probably looking for red velvet and vanilla. We are limited to our flavors.

Objectives

The company’s strategic plan establishes what kinds of businesses the company will operate and its objectives for each. Then, within each business unit, more detailed planning takes place. The major functional departments in each unit—marketing, finance, accounting, purchasing, operations, information systems, human resources, and others—must work together to accomplish strategicobjectives. Our companies objective is to create as much clientele as we can, the more customers we are able to achieve, the more money we have to donate. Our main goal is to produce enough money to help the people in Typhoon. We want the victims to be safe and taken care of. Not only do we want to achieve money, but we also want our customers to have an amazing experience, if they are giving, we want to give to them as well. It is in fact, the least we can do. We love our customers, and we want our customers to love us. An effective marketing program blends all of the marketing mix elements into an integrated marketing program designed to achieve the company’s marketing objectives by delivering value to consumers. We also need to have objectives within our marketing technique, if we are able to intrigue customers through are marketing program, we know we are doing the right thing. We want our customers to see our commercials and say wow, I would love to be apart of that.

Business Mission Statement

Helpcakes is a cupcakes business that is here to help people internationally. Today, we are here for the victims in Typhoon. Our mission is to always provide what is needed and to care for those in need, we are a non-for-profit organization which means that what you spend with us gets sent to those in need. This broad mission leads to a hierarchy of objectives, including business objectives and marketing objectives. The objectives for marketing are to get as much hype as we possibly can, we are a Las Vegas base company but are located throughout all Whole Foods locations worldwide. Our marketing technique is through social media as well as other platforms. We have set-up a Facebook page, as well as Twitter and Instagram. Social media is linked to both a younger and older generation and this is a great way to say who we are and why we are here. We have also been apart of a few local commercials that are broadcast with or without cable so people can hear about us. like Nike, outstanding marketing organizations employ strongly customer-driven marketing strategies and programs that create customer value and relationships. These marketing strategies and programs, however, are guided by broader company wide strategic plans, which must also be customer focused.

Week 10: EOC What are the benefits VS. the Features

The benefits for Helpcakes definitely have to stand out aside from other cupcakes. Our cupcakes are not only to help the victims in Typhoon, but also the fact that they are made with love. Are bakers love what they do, and eat what they love. They're objective is to make every single "Helpcake" to perfection and absolutely delicious. The benefit will be homemade, fresh daily and straight from the oven. Just like mom and grandma made them. They are made from scratch, so no need to wonder about any secret ingredients, as a matter of fact, join the fun and help us bake some. You, as a parent will know how they are made and why our Helpcakes will be better then the rest. Super Fresh , Super Delicious, and a million times of Care.

Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

The Creative content for our business is being able to advertise to people through the ads at Whole Goods and billboards. The reason i decided to go through these options is because I have noticed more advertising through this then commercials. The creative content of the ads will be displayed inside Whole Foods with different ads with cupcakes and the Philippines. I want to be able to show our company's cause. Show that we care and make it appealing to customers. Have a cupcake and help a life. I was thinking on have an ad with just the Philippines flag on it and making the statement about how buying the cupcakes can help Typhoon. Also, I had in mind doing a billboard with just cupcakes nicely done with wording stating the cause.

Week 6 EOC: Me X 3

Three products that define me are clothing (fashion), home decor, and my cellphone. The reason why these products define me are because not only am I the head of my household, but I am also a women. A fashionable one must I say. The reason why fashion defines me is because I love clothes, I may not have designer brands but I do have my own style, I may not have a huge closet but I am able to make multiple statements in my attire. Fashion is very important to me, hence I am going to college to learn more about it but I also enjoy how clothes makes me feel, it makes me feel beautiful, and if i feel beautiful I look great. Home decor is HUGE in my life, I do live on my own and I love having my home as presentable as possible, I love decorating my walls, buying things that make my home look good, accessorizing with colors and pictures. As a fashion individual, why wouldn't I want my home to be fashionable as well. It is the place I spend most of my time in. Now, last but not least, my cellphone. My cellphone is my number one fan, I carry it with me everywhere, its never a few feet away from me. Technology is becoming a great part of the world, I don't carry a laptop with me everywhere since it's not as small as I would like it to be, but a cellphone does exactly what I need to in order to keep connected.

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750-million-plus user base to find new employees, threatening traditional job boards and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena. With this being said, Facebook has impacted everyone, just yesterday Facebook stocks grew and its going to continue to grow in the next few years. Facebook isn't going anywhere, and it's pretty smart if companies want to do hiring through a Facebook platform. Other sites are helpful in finding information and attaching resumes but people are connecting through social medie these days as well as seeing promotions on Facebook.  Others note that while LinkedIn contains a more comprehensive résumé database, candidates tend to value referrals from their connections on Facebook more. Facebook is letting people connect with celebrities, managers, and all type of people that can provide opportunities, just by liking a company's Facebook page, you now have access to this companies post rather then being connected by logging onto their website. "While I wish every company used Monster, social is a solution that many people are using," he said.

Week 4 EOC: There's an App for that

The type of App I have came up with will be an App that can literally tell you if there's a spirit or some type of deceased person either with you, near you, or possibly a few miles away. We see that there are apps that monitor the direction of a cop car, there are medium that can physically feel a spirit and are able to communicate with them. Technology is extremely advancing, and its only going to continue to grow and grow. Ghost stories have been around for generations, and that have kinda been trending these days. There are plenty of shows and movies about them. We have also been able to come up with technology that can monitor ghost or even as we may "think" able to understand their words. So why not come up with an App that can let you know, Hey! I'm near by, or you're heading into my direction. We have came so obsessed with spirits that some of us have been a bit frightened to even think that we may be around certain spirits. Personally speaking, I wouldn't want to move into a place where there are creepy happenings. The app can serve as a safety measure, or it could probably even help the popular Ghost Hunters. Lets call it, Are You Afraid?
I also thought about maybe an app that could communicate with animals, I recently saw a documentary about Sea World, and how their company comes across to the killer whales. If only there was something out there that could tell us how they feel and we could comprehend what they are trying to tell us. I think this way, there could be justice for animals, especially the ones that are decreasing, we want to be able to save our animals, not kill them to extinction, this way we are able to properly care for them if they do live in zoo's and water parks. This app wouldn't just help protect them, but it can even protect us when we are in dangerous situations. Just to assure these animals we mean no harm to them.

Week 3 EOC: Making money for good

Nike has been helping girls since the moment girls wanted to be athletes, they are the ones on which Nike started the Just Do It movement. Now, they have started a new movement. The Nike Foundation leverages the power of insights; innovation and inspiration to stop the cycle of inter-generational poverty. As a company, Nike believes in the power of human potential. In the two minutes it will take for you to read this, 54 girls between the ages of 10 and 18 will give birth. Ninety percent of these girls are child brides. Four of them will die from pregnancy complications. There are 250 million adolescent girls living in poverty today, and we believe they are the most powerful force for change on the planet.  When we include girls in education, health and economic investments, we give them choice and opportunity: choice over when they marry and start having children and opportunity to realize their full economic and social potential. Investing in a girl — before she is married, out of school, pregnant and HIV positive is the ultimate solution to end poverty, not a cure for its symptoms. But girls can't do it alone. They need the world to recognize them, listen to them and invest in their potential. Created by the Nike Foundation in collaboration with the Novo Foundation, United Nations Foundation and Coalition for Adolescent Girls, the girl effect leverages the unique potential of adolescent girls and provides them with resources to end poverty for themselves, their families, their communities, their countries and the world. The Nike Foundation is pioneering a new approach to development by creating insights-driven innovations, strategic partnerships and solutions that can be scaled to enable and equip adolescent girls to realize their potential. When a girl in poverty completes secondary school, marries and has her first child later, she helps to create economic growth, political and social stability.

Early in Nike's work, they issued Requests for Proposals where they noticed gaps in investment, based on what they learned from their partners and other experts. Frequently these involved seed grants or investments to replicate promising programs. Those prior investments helped Nike to understand where the greatest opportunities exist for girls. Their current investments target large-scale systems change that transforms girls’ environments. Nike works closely with our network of partners and collaborators to identify organizations with the capacity to bring about massive change.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

  • Cash cows  XBOX ONE, WII, and Playstation typically generate cash in excess of the amount of cash needed to maintain the business. They are regarded as staid and boring, in a "mature" market, and every corporation would be thrilled to own as many as possible. The reason why they are cash cows is because their growth is still continuing. There are families that enjoy having these system in their homes, I personally own all 3. They are also in this category because at the moment its the best thing until a new product comes along, like the PS4 as well as the new XBOX. Where your experience is custom tailored to you. And the entertainment you love is all in one place. Welcome to the all-in-one, Xbox One.
  • Dogs: Nintendo U and PC games are units with low market share in a mature, slow-growing industry. These units typically "break even", generating barely enough cash to maintain the business's market share. They are in this category because even though the Wii U is about a year old, its not doing as well as other concoles, they are not appealing, they are not advertising, if anything the only time I actually heard about the Wii U was in the holiday season last year. PC games have tremendously lost its value, people are not intuned to the type of game play anymore, with comsoles, and phone games we now only use our PC's for internet use.
  • Question marks  Android games and online games (also known as problem children) are business operating in a high market growth, but having a low market share. They are a starting point for most businesses. These are questions for me because the phone is becoming more popular by the minute, its already as popular as it could get but android games do not have a huge selection as the Iphone, so it could succeed or crash. Online gaming has positive sides, there are a few fames out there that are extremely popular, ex: Minecraft.
  • Stars Phone games, free games, Playstation 4  are units with a high market share in a fast-growing industry. They are successful question marks and become a market leader in a high growth sector.  Because the phone has become extremely popular, some games are free and others really cheap that are appealing to buy, they are games to pass time for a few minutes as well as to keep children entertained in some situations. The Playstaion 4 is having some really cool features that differentiate between the PS3, hence makes people want to buy it, its adapting to the new world of technology that will make people want it.

Week 1 EOC: MY VOICE

Fashion Professional! You see them all around, in T.V, magazines, with celebrities, absolutely everywhere, and then there’s me, how I am supposed to compete with all these professionals in the future. EASY! I know I’m extremely dedicated, I know that with my hard work, keeping my focus, and following my heart, I will make it one way or another. This is what I've wanted since 8th grade and I will keep on working on it until I've made it. I love everything that has to do with fashion, and even if I start off small and make my way up, I will know that I’m on the right path to success. I always get the “Why Fashion” question? Well, why do something for the rest of your life and be unhappy? Being a fashion professional is beneficial to me by being involved in something I enjoy rather then having to wake up every morning doing something I hate for years to come. I rather work in an environment that I’m passionate about and at the end, I wouldn't call it working. Fashion to me is being able to express yourself rather then having to say it, and I would love to help people be happy by what they wear, I want to be able to be apart of their happiness just by what they have on, you can make a million people feel good about themselves just by what they have on.
Being a fashion professional will give me my purpose in life, what everyone in the world searches for, I know I will find it by fulfilling my dreams, and while fulfilling those dreams, I will be making people happy. Making my dreams reality is also helping those people that need that little boost on loving who they are.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

A few weeks ago I went out to eat with my sister-in-law and my nephews. We were hungry for Applebees since it was the nearest dine in restaurant. I had a certain experience that my sister-in-law would not agree on, but it was a fairly good experience. As the waiter us to our seats, we all ordered and continue onto our conversation. Thirty-five minutes in, our appetizers hadn't arrived and everyone but me had become a little grumpy. The waiters kept checking on us with apologetic words because the food was taking quite some time.  The manager also came to our table and thanked us for being patient, next thing you know, our appetizers came around the same time that our food came. Everyone knows that appetizers are supposed to be ready before your main dish arrives, but I can be extremely patient and understanding. You may probably have walked out by now but patient and kindness can get you a few things. As my family and I were having our lunch, the manager walked to our table once again and told us that our appetizer was on them. The reason why I had a great customer experience was because the not only were the waiters apologetic, but the manager was also sorry for the wait. During the whole time, we were being checked on, our drinks were never halfway empty, they were courteous to us as the customer. This is what I enjoy when I go out to eat, I am treated kindly and acknowledge.Instead, it relies on customer service so good that customers not only come back but also tell their friends.
